Odette Poster

An original 140-page script (dated 1949) for the 1950 WWII film "Odette", the film about the female SOE operative who was captured by the Nazis but survived the war. The script has been annotated inside & is marked to the cover "Cpt & Mrs. Churchill". Peter Churchill was Odette's fellow SOE agent who was captured with her (although they were sentenced to death & Odette tortured, both survived by claiming to be married & related to Winston Churchill). After the war, Odette did marry Peter Churchill, so the script was their own personal one. With the script is a newspaper cutting of Anna Neagle (who played Odette in the film) admiring Odette's Legion of Honour which she was awarded in Paris 26th Oct 1950. In addition there is also a mounted colour photo (8"x 10" overall) of Odette "taken July 1968 outside St Martin's in the Field, Trafalgar Square, during a VC & GC Association Reunion" (Odette is one of only 4 women ever to be awarded the George Cross, & the only one to receive it personally, all others being posthumous awards). Finally, there is a framed & glazed wartime print (9"x 12" approx) of Odette mounted above an original "Odette Churchill" autograph. Inset to the reverse is a compliments slip with a note & autograph from Peter Churchill. Four items altogether & a fascinating collection commemorating one woman's courageous stand in the face of Nazi brutality.
