Dirty Harry Poster

UK Quad first release cinema poster for "Dirty Harry" (1971) in rare original un-restored condition.

This was the debut poster in the Clint Eastwood “Dirty Harry” series & most importantly, this is the original first release poster (several re-release variants are more commonly available). The film captured the zeitgeist of the moment: the free-love idealism of the hippy age being replaced by gritty realism & personified by the character “Dirty Harry”. Clint plays the role with a great line in swaggering masculinity & delivers one of the classic punch-lines in 20th century cinema "You've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky? Well do ya, punk?". An interesting poster design with a series of overlapping shots of "Dirty Harry" gun in hand.

This poster has escaped linen-backing & had no painted restoration. Folded as issued, there  are single pin-holes to the left hand corners, several each to the right hand corners & light general creasing. Three small conservation tape strengtheners have been applied to crossfolds to the reverse. The poster remains in very good condition.
