The Face Poster

A silk-screened poster for the 1959 Ingmar Bergman drama "The Face", this a poster specially commissioned for the Academy Cinema in London's Oxford Street & bearing the idiosyncratic graphics of Peter Strausfield (Stausfield's illustrations being based on woodblock or linocut preparations). Given the single-venue bespoke nature of the poster, the print run for this title was very small & surviving examples are scarce.

There is a 10" conservation tape repair from the right hand side. Otherwise, minor paper loss bottom right corner & several other small conservation repairs. The poster has 3 faint vertical folds only & will be sent rolled in a tube. The poster has been priced in accordance with condition.
