The Mummy Poster

Original linen-backed mini-poster (11 1/4"x 17") for the Hammer Studios film "The Mummy" (1959) with poster illustration by Bill Wiggins.

This rare format poster was adapted from Wiggins Quad poster artwork for the film (see Quad image attached for reference). These mini-posters were distributed with the reverse pre-gummed & were designed for cinema managers to paste onto interior windows/mirrors etc. Given this form of usage, very few have survived. We acquired several of these stuck back-to-back & these required professional restoration to separate them. This example has been conserved with linen-backing & would frame to great effect. A really cost effective way of acquiring original Hammer "Mummy" memorabilia: for an idea of relative value, we believe the last "Mummy" Quad to appear at auction sold in the US in 2016 for $7,170 (£5,860 equivalent) & were one to come to the market now it is likely to be double the price!
