A Story Of David Poster

UK Quad poster for "A Story Of David" (1960) the Biblical epic starring Jeff Chandler, the poster with superlative Chantrell illustration.

This is a great example of Chantrell's poster artistry. Although Chantrell was an artist with a great range (see http://www.chantrellposter.com/ for more examples), the Quad for "A Story Of David" typifies his "default" approach with the poster being crammed with action, a sense of dynamism & full of colour. Chantrell's "trademark" graduated title script is also apparent & ever aware of the commercial realities of poster composition, Chantrell also squeezes in some scantily clad girls too! Clearly the artist was pleased with this composition as his printed signature is also present.

This poster is totally unrestored & although there are pin-holes to corners & minor rim defects, the poster still displays to very good effect. This is a surprisingly difficult Chantrell Quad to find.
