A Ticket To Tomahawk Poster

UK Quad stone-litho cinema poster for the early comedy-western "A Ticket To Tomahawk" (1950).

The Quad design was very different to that of the American poster campaign (see image of US 1-Sheet for reference - courtesy of emovieposter) & includes an excellent image of the steam train used in the film (named "Emma Sweeny" but actually the "Rio Grande Southern #20", a 3-foot-gauge 4-6-0 Ten-Wheeler built by the Schenectady Locomotive Works in 1899). The Quad poster artist unidentified but a little reminiscent of some of the early Ealing comedy posters.

Poster folded with several large foldline splits (these now stabilised with conservation tape repairs to the reverse - longest 12"), pin-holes to corners fraying bottom left edge. Irrespective, a scarce Quad title & an interesting poster design.
