Advise and Consent Poster

US Insert conservation paper-backed movie poster for the Otto Preminger political drama "Advise and Consent" (1962) with poster illustration by Saul Bass.

The film featured a heavy weight cast also including Walter Pidgeon, Peter Lawford, Gene Tierney, Burgess Meredith etc & was co-lead star Charles Laughton's final film. The Saul Bass poster graphics are typically spartan but striking, the design conjuring thoughts of power, control, influence & intrigue. A classy poster design.

The US Insert poster format was produced in far smaller numbers than equivalent US 1-Sheets: a leading US auctioneer has sold 74 US 1-Sheets since 2004 but during this time just 17 US Inserts. Poster had three light horizontal creases prior to backing & appears to have been in excellent condition otherwise. Light touch-ins to the creases on the white rim only seem to have been required & this item presents in excellent condition. NB. The pins shown have been used on the backing overlap & not the poster itself.
