Diamonds Are Forever Poster

Rare UK Double-Crown cinema poster for "Diamonds Are Forever" (1971) with superb artwork by Robert McGinnis.

Although "Diamonds Are Forever" was the only Bond film not to have an official London premiere (the European premiere was held in Munich instead) the first public screening of the film in the UK was on the 30th Dec at the Odeon Leicester Square (ie, it was the de facto London premiere). At least three double-crown poster designs were printed for the film, one being text based only, a second with the artwork but lacking the "...Dec 30 Odeon..." text & this, the rarest & most sought after, which includes both the artwork & the de facto premiere text (excellent b/w photos of these can be found on http://www.007magazine.co.uk/london_calling3.htm).

The McGinnis artwork shows Bond suave as ever, flanked by two glamourous ladies clutching handfuls of diamonds. An earlier version of the artwork showed the redhead's hand in a lower position which some felt might be too "suggestive" so McGinnis was asked to re-paint the composition with her hand slightly raised!

Poster folded & in‌ excellent condition. This is a rare poster & visually stunning. If one was to overlook Sean Connery's tame comeback in "Never Say Never Again" (1983), "Diamonds Are Forever" marked a great bookend to Connery's career as Bond & this poster stands on a par with the fabulous 1960's Connery Bond posters too! This poster will NOT be discounted.

NB. A supplementary P&P charge will be required for this poster. Alternatively collection can be arranged by appointment.
