Nutcracker Poster

From the Vic Fair archive, this is an unfolded proof Quad poster for the 1983 Joan Collins film, "Nutcracker". Fair both designed & illustrated this poster (see below a pre-production print signed by the artist). A very simple design but one which would further embolden Joan Collins' image of a femme-fatale (following on the heels of "The Stud" in 1978 & "The Bitch" in 1979). The film was a pretty leaden affair with a background of ballet & a good helping of nubiles losing their clothes. Vic Fair was unusually restrained here, delivering a classy minimalistic illustration, the poster undoubtedly the best thing about the film!

As a proof poster provided to the artist for approval, this Quad has escaped the normal process of machine-folding & remains in excellent unfolded condition.
