The One Piece Bathing Suit Poster

Scarce UK Quad cinema poster for the musical drama "The One Piece Bathing Suit" (1952).

The film was based on the life of the Australian swimming champion Annette Kellerman. Kellerman overcame polio to become a worldwide star in the early 20th century but her close fitting swimsuit caused a scandal (pre-dating the scandal of the bikini with Brigitte Bardot at Cannes in 1953). Esther Williams career followed a similar trajectory (without the scandal), appearing in a number of films with her featured in swimming scenes.

Poster folded with a couple of tiny edge conservation tape repairs & minor rim creasing but overall remains in excellent order.
