Violent Playground Poster

UK Quad poster for "Violent Playground" (1958), the British post-war social documentary.

Set in Liverpool the film tackled the subject of youth delinquency among the cities working-class. Great period b/w footage of post-war Liverpool. Although few of the characters speak with a scouse accent the film does give an early nod to the diversity of Britain's post-war population with black, Chinese & mixed race characters shown. The striking poster artwork is by Cliff Hirstle.

Poster with pin-holes to corners/rim, edge nicks, tiny area of paper loss to lower central crossfold. A scarce British 1950's film poster.
