2001 A Space Odyssey Poster

Rare bespoke UK Cinerama silkscreen poster (12 1/2"x 20 1/2") for the UK PREMIERE of the Stanley Kubrick masterpiece "2001 A Space Odyssey" (1968).

Only a tiny number of these posters were printed & they are not often seen in the market. In 2021 emovieposter sold a similar example for $1,365. The poster was printed for the UK premiere of the film which took place at the Casino Cinerama cinema on 1st May 1968 (both this date & the cinema referenced on the poster). The Casino cinema was the first cinema outside the US to be equipped for Cinerama projection. Such was the success of "2001.." that it played at the Casino for 47 weeks, from 1st May 1968 till 26th March 1969! (the Casino is now known as the Prince Edward Theatre).
