Apocalypse Now Poster

A 2021 Mondo licenced screenprint poster (24"x 36") for the classic Vietnam War movie "Apocalypse Now" (1979).

This was a licenced re-creation of Bob Peak's original illustration for the 1979 advertising campaign. Artist Jason Edmiston & Peak's son, Mathew Peak collaborated on the project. Indicating the skill, accuracy & hard work involved Edmiston said "My goal when helping separate this poster for screenprinting was to retain as much of the original artist's hand and richness of colors from the original piece as possible. I took great care to approach it like a watercolor painting, building depth with layers of transparent inks, while also paying attention to the textures, airbrushed glows, and subtle linework that Bob often employed, making this one of the most iconic movie posters of all time.” This Mondo print was limited to 425 posters. The Mondo & associated Alternative Movie Poster (AMP) movement began in the early 2000's & represents a rejection of the "modern" photo-based design method of producing cinema posters. Mondos & AMP's are cinema posters created as art pieces. Generally these have not been made for film marketing purposes but instead are artistic re-interpretations of both classic vintage films & modern movies. Mondo/AMP posters are exceptionally high quality prints, released in strictly limited numbers (invariably sold out on release) & become instant collectables.

This poster has no discernible faults & is as close to mint as you will find (we handle these posters with proper conservation quality gloves in order to keep them as pristine as possible). The poster will be sent rolled with protective paper in a sturdy tube. This is a scarce poster & will NOT be discounted.
