Arabesque Poster

A scarce unfolded UK Quad first release cinema poster for the crime-thriller "Arabesque" (1966) starring Sophia Loren & Gregory Peck.

A poster with impact! The colourful backdrop encapsulates the mood of the times (the film shot at Pinewood & on location in the UK in London, Ascot etc). An intriguing piece & perfectly fitting for the film itself. The artwork is based on the Robert McGinnis US marketing campaign (see the US 1-Sheet for reference - image courtesy of emovieposter) but Fratini has introduced a psych-influenced geometric backing for added interest & appeal. NB. This is the full artwork first release poster - a later re-release features the same blue/yellow background but Peck/Loren are depicted with muted colour (Ms Loren's boots not being yellow!).

A scarce unfolded example of this title. There are four old hole-punch reinforcement stickers to the reverse of the corners but only a single tack-hole to upper left corner. A couple of tiny edge nicks (1/8" longest) & a few very light creases but this poster remains in superb overall condition. A real find!
