Baby It's You

Original painted artwork by Graham Humphreys for the Quad cinema poster for the American rom-com "Baby It's You" (1983), the film starring Rosanna Arquette & Vincent Spano.

This is a rare Humphreys artwork, a) being from his early career & b) being a scarce example of an illustration outside his favoured genres of horror & scifi. The work looks atypical to those familiar with Humphreys usual oeuvre & demonstrates the stylistic range of the artist (we show an example of the printed Quad poster for comparison). Although the film was set in 1966 the music soundtrack utilised early Springsteen numbers from the 1970's.

The painted artwork consists of colour washes overlaid with gouache on art paper.
