Batman and Robin Poster

US linen-backed 1-Sheet style "Robin" (1966) commercial poster (27"x 40") with Carmine Infantino poster illustration.

Off the back of the enormous success of the "Batman" TV series (1966-68) & the related "Batman" (1966) movie, "Batman" merchandising became popular. G & F Posters produced several officially licenced Batman & Robin posters & this is a superb "Robin" example. The poster shows Robin in characteristic garb with a speach bubble saying "Hold it, Batman! It is REALLY me - your ward - Dick Grayson!". Comic illustrator Carmine Infantino was drafted in by DC Comics in 1964 to provide a "new look" to the "Batman & Robin" franchise & this is a perfect example.

Poster unfolded & prior to backing was in very good condition with several small tears/nicks to bottom rim. These have been rectified though the amount of restoration required was strictly limited. The poster displays to superb effect. A real statement piece!
