Blood Relatives

Interesting Vic Fair concept artwork (22"x 32") for the Claude Chabrol thriller set in Canada, "Blood Relatives" (1978).

As comparison with the printed Quad shows, the prominently displayed knife was carried over from the concept to the finished artwork. The concept piece, however, presents an image of the victim, Fair ripping pieces of this design to show the red background underneath to simulate the effect of a slasher attack.

The artwork is on layout paper affixed to "Legion" artboard with a painted wash, pen & ink artwork superimposed above the red background, the film title painted onto an acetate panel bottom left.
