Set in a military hospital for veterans with psychiatric illnesses & with Gregory Peck as the doctor in charge, the film combined humour with more serious elements (effectively tackling the issue of PTSD). The film was blessed with a great cast also including Tony Curtis, Angie Dickinson, Bobby Darin (who was Oscar nominated - one of three Oscar nominations the film achieved) & a young Robert Duvall in an early big screen role.
