Casino Royale Poster

UK Quad cinema poster for "Casino Royale" (1967) with fabulous period artwork by Robert McGinnis.

One of the most visually distinctive of all "Bond" poster designs. This poster reflects beautifully the mood of the 1960's - psychedelic liberation and a sense of fun! The film boasted a plethora of stars in walk-on cameos and a team of scriptwriters and directors. Inevitably the film suffers from a lack of structure but as a product very much of it's time, it provides a fascinating slice of the eclectic contemporary "In Crowd". Interestingly, this poster design was to provide the inspiration for both the UK Quad for "The Illustrated Man" (69) and the US 1-Sheet design for "The Italian Job" (69).

Poster folded with light creasing & a couple of tiny pin-hole separations to crossfolds but in 100% original condition with no restoration. This poster could be linen-backed with minimal need for restoration & would then look fabulous. An increasingly hard poster to find. At the time of listing an alternative folded poster in comparable condition was offered in a London gallery for £2,950.
