ET The Extra Terrestrial Poster

A 2019 licensed screenprint "foil variant" poster (24"x 36") for the classic Spielberg scifi movie "ET: The Extra Terrestrial" (1982) displaying the iconic imagery from the original '82 advertising campaign by John Alvin.

Commissioned by Bottleneck Gallery & Vice Press inconjunction with the Alvin Estate, this 9-colour foil variant screenprint was limited to just 225 copies worlwide. The poster has been hand-numbered to the lower rim. Talking about Alvin's design, his widow Andrea recalled that John was taken to the studio and shown a floppy hand that looked like a rubber chicken and then expected to create something to sell this new Steven Spielberg film! This poster is in near mint condition. The poster will be sent rolled with protective paper in a sturdy tube. This is a scarce poster & will NOT be discounted.

The Mondo & associated Alternative Movie Poster (AMP) movement began in the early 2000's & represents a rejection of the "modern" photo-based design method of producing cinema posters.
