ET The Extra Terrestrial Poster

US 1-Sheet linen-backed movie poster for the Steven Spielberg classic "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" (1982).

Created by the American artist John Alvin (1948-2008) the image of the touching fingers is one of the most instantly recognisable from the canon of twentieth century poster advertising. Alvin apparently took his inspiration from Michelangelo's "Creation of Adam" painting from the Sistine chapel in Rome (see attached image). Impressive lineage!

Poster folded prior to backing & appears to have had minimal restoration only (touch-ins to foldlines) & displays to excellent effect (map chest 7).
