Escape From New York Poster

A 2016 licenced Mondo Movie poster (24"x 36") for John Carpenter's "Escape From New York" (1981).

This limited edition & hand-numbered screenprint poster is one of only 300 that were printed, the artwork by the British artist Matt Taylor. A special "glow-in-the-dark" effect ink has been used in the design. This poster is in excellent condition other than some slight "rub" to the lower right corner area. The poster will be sent rolled with protective paper in a sturdy tube. This is a scarce poster & will NOT be discounted.

The Mondo & associated Alternative Movie Poster (AMP) movement began in the early 2000's & represents a rejection of the "modern" photo-based design method of producing cinema posters. Mondos & AMP's are cinema posters created as art pieces. Generally these have not been made for film marketing purposes but instead are artistic re-interpretations of both classic vintage films & modern movies. Mondo/AMP posters are exceptionally high quality prints, released in strictly limited numbers (invariably sold out on release) & become instant collectables.
