Get Carter Poster

UK Quad linen-backed cinema poster for the iconic British gangster film starring Michael Caine "Get Carter" (1971).

Filmed in & around Newcastle, this is regarded by many as the premier film of the British gangster genre. The poster illustration by Arnaldo Putzu depicts Caine in a psychedelic jacket which he never wears in the film & at first sight seems bizarre given the gritty nature of the production. We've seen some interesting theories about this but Putzu has simply picked up on the patterned bedspread which Ms Ekland writhes on whilst enjoying phone sex with Caine! This is one of the top collectable Michael Caine posters & an excellent example of Putzu's fine artistry too.

Poster folded but now linen-backed. Prior to backing this poster was in excellent condition. We have examined the poster under UV light & can detect only two tiny crossfold touch-ins ie, this poster remains in 99% original condition & has not sufferred from the over-painting that effects some linen-backed posters (there is some old tape on the exposed linen rim but this can be trimmed off if required & none affects the poster).
