Hangar 18

Three Chantrell artwork prototypes (16"x 21" approx) for the UK Quad poster of "Hangar 18" (1980).

These items provide an insight into the design process behind the finished Quad poster. The first prototype is on tracing paper affixed to board with a paper overlay & shows a spaceship above a lorry crash with a hangar underneath. The second prototype is effectively the same as the finished poster (see for comparison: https://www.moviepostermem.com/Hangar-18-Poster/60745). The third was clearly an attempt by Chantrell to further improve on his second design & consists of a top third section of overlay which he added to the second design. The artworks are all on tracing paper in a mix of colour wash & magic marker. For the sake of clarity, the buyer will receive two separate artworks, one having a top third overlay so in effect there are three different artwork designs here.

A Letter of Authenticity will accompany these pieces attesting to them having come from the artist's personal archive.
