Hearts and Armour Poster

Spanish 1-Sheet cinema poster (27"x 40") for Italian fantasy-adventure "Hearts and Armour" (1983) with poster artwork by Tom Beauvais etc, the poster coming from the private collection of the artist.

Tom Beauvais worked closely with Tom Chantrell at the Allardyce ad agency before setting up his own business, "Chapman-Beauvais" in 1975. Among the vast roster of posters Beauvais created were "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid (1969), "Fantastic Voyage" (1966), Mad Max (1979) & Zombie Flesh Eaters" (1980).

The bulk of the artwork on the poster is by Tom Beauvais though the spears were created by airbrush artist Keith Fowles. A member of Warners Publicity Dept wanted his face on the poster so on some foreign prints of this design, the face of the sword fighter at the bottom was revised to accomodate the request!

Poster unfolded with extensive scuffing, tape repaired tears, amateur restoration etc. Poster not in very good condition but it still displays to good effect & it's a scarce Beauvais poster too. Although the poster carries the printed signature of the artist, a separate letter of authenticity signed by the artist will also be supplied with this item.
