Ice Cold In Alex Poster
UK Quad linen-backed cinema poster for the wartime drama "Ice Cold In Alex" (1958), the film starring John Mills, Sylvia Syms & Anthony Quayle.
The film contains the famous "worth waiting for" bar scene where the intrepid sun-ravaged escapees savour ice cold Carlsberg's. The scene was shot using real beer & was only completed to director J Lee Thompson's satisfaction after fourteen takes! The poster is regarded as a classic WWII Quad & interestingly eschews cast/credits information though is not thought to be an advance poster.
The painted artwork poster design works wonderfully in evoking the sparse and unforgiving landscape that must be conquered by John Mills & his compatriots whilst also accentuating the enormity of their task.
Poster once folded & now linen-backed. Prior to being backed this poster was in superb condition & has required NO restoration (for those who prefer their posters un-backed we currently have this example available:https://www.moviepostermem.com/Ice-Cold-In-Alex-Poster/60276)
NB. A supplementary P&P charge will be required for overseas buyers (O).
