Just For Fun Poster
An original photo (8"x 10") of the finished John Stockle artwork for the Quad poster of this teen musical, the photo originally from the Stockle archive. Slight marking to still. John Stockle was a poster designer & illustrator who spent most of his career at the Dixons & Downton advertising agencies. Working alongside fellow designer Vic Fair, Stockle was responsible for hundreds of poster designs, initially favouring cartoon-type illustration but like all good artists, being able to employ a variety of stylistic approaches. Stockle was responsible for some eye-catching posters including "Further Up The Creek" & "The Revenge of Frankenstein" (for Hammer), "Rock Around The Clock", "The Admirable Crichton", "Virgin Soldiers" & more latterly "White Mischief". Stockle retired in 1988 & a retrospective exhibition of his work took place in Enfield in 1997.
