Maniac Poster

UK Quad cinema poster for the Hammer horror film “Maniac” (1963).

Filmed in France the film revolved around the plan to spring a blowtorch murderer from prison! The poster design is deliberately unsettling the spartan red/black elemental hues evoking a sense of impending violence. The artist responsible is unknown though the poster is reminiscent in style to Hammer’s earlier “The Hound Of the Baskervilles” (1959) Quad.

Poster with pin-holes to corners, tape marks to edges, light foldline wear & a couple of small edge nicks (longest 1”). The “X” certificate has been neatly blanked out. These are cosmetic issues & the poster displays very well as seen though could be restored too. A scarce early Hammer title & priced in accordance with condition.
