So Close To Life Poster

UK Quad silk-screened poster for the Ingmar Bergman film "So Close To Life" aka "Brink Of Life" (1958) starring Ingrid Thulin, Bibi Andersson & Eva Dahlbeck.

This poster presents the highly distinctive artwork by Peter Strausfield & was a bespoke poster created specially for the arts cinema, The Academy, in London. The print run for this poster would have been small. Strausfield was a German emigre who worked as the in-house poster designer for The Academy 1947-80. Strausfield's posters were based on woodcut or linocut designs & are characteristically stark but extremely effective.

Poster unfolded with minor edge nicks & a single 3/4" tear/tape mark to lower right rim. Overall in very good condition.
