Spasms

Original Vic Fair concept artwork (16"x 22 3/4") for the Oliver Reed/Peter Fonda horror film "Spasms" (1983).

Filmed originally in 1981, "Spasms" struggled to achieve a cinema release, this coming two years later. A Quad poster bearing the same design as that used for the video release (see below) shows a close match to the Vic Fair concept. The colour scheme, design & the text on the concept are reminiscent of the Les Edwards Quad for "The Thing" (1982), this probably a deliberate marketing ploy.

The artwork is on paper laid to artboard & is a mix of airbrush painted work & pencil. The printed text is carried on an acetate overlay.
