Swamp Fire Poster

UK Quad cinema poster for the action-adventure starring Johnny Weissmuller "Swamp Fire" (1946).

Johnny Weissmuller is synonymous with "Tarzan" having made twelve "Tarzan" films 1932-48. "Swamp Fire" represents a scarce early film in which Weissmuller was playing a role other than Tarzan. This is an interesting poster given that it has been printed to the reverse of a WWII era map published by the War Office & entitled "Edition of July 1944". This re-cycling reflects the paper shortages that affected the nation in the immediate post-war period.

Poster folded with pin-holes to corners & faint bleed-through to the top left (to the "Jo" of "Johnny"). A rare early piece of Weissmuller memorabilia.
