Sweet Sound of Death Poster

Scarce UK Quad cinema poster for the Spanish horror film "The Sweet Sound of Death" (1966) with poster art by Jack Hubbard.

Released in Spain as "La llamada", a contemporary reviewer commented it "is devoid of overt shocks, but is long on atmosphere and tension that slowly builds to a fittingly eerie climax".

Interestingly this independent Gala release adopts the "go to" horror colour scheme of green/red/black. The discordant colour clashes somewhow works very well & this particular colour scheme was often used for horror genre films like this. The identity of Jack Hubbard, who illustrated this poster & others for independent distributors like Gala, was largely unknown until Ewbanks auctioned a quantity of his artworks/posters in 2024.

Poster folded with minor foldline wear & a small 1" tear to bottom right rim. Overall in very good condition.
