A 2010 licensed screenprint poster (18"x 24") for "The Cabinet of Dr Caligari" (1920) with artwork by "Alien Corset" aka David O'Daniel. A highly distinctive piece that is instantly recognisable as being a David O'Daniel poster. O'Daniel was at the forefront of the AMP movement, as indeed was the Castro Theatre, San Francisco, that commissioned many early AMP's for their arthouse screenings. This is a relatively scarce early AMP & was issued with a print run of just 100. The poster has been printed using metallic inks on Wassau Antique Gold paper. The artist has hand-numbered & signed the poster to the bottom border.

This poster is in near mint condition. The poster will be sent rolled with protective paper in a sturdy tube. This is a scarce poster & will NOT be discounted.

The Mondo & associated Alternative Movie Poster (AMP) movement began in the early 2000's & represents a rejection of the "modern" photo-based design method of producing cinema posters. Mondos & AMP's are cinema posters created as art pieces. Generally these have not been made for film marketing purposes but instead are artistic re-interpretations of both classic vintage films & modern movies. Mondo/AMP posters are exceptionally high quality prints, released in strictly limited numbers (invariably sold out on release) & become instant collectables.
