The Dark Knight Poster

Full set of screenprinted Mondo posters for "The Dark Knight" (2008) created by "Alien Corset" aka David O'Daniel, for a one day screening at the Castro Theatre, San Francisco, on 23rd Feb 2011.

Includes the larger poster (18"x 24") which is numbered "169/175" & the set of three uncut handbills entitled "Be Cruel", "Be True" and "Be Both" (11"x 24" overall). The posters have been printed on a specialist gold paper & both have been initialled in pencil to the bottom rim by the artist.

These posters are in excellent condition (a few small "dents" on the larger one but corners all sharp). The posters will be sent rolled with protective paper in a sturdy tube (they will not be separated). Early Mondo/AMP posters from this period rarely surface on the market so these will NOT be discounted (for an idea of relative value Propstore sold a similar Artist's Proof set of these posters for £625 in 2020).

The Mondo & associated Alternative Movie Poster (AMP) movement began in the early 2000's & represents a rejection of the "modern" photo-based design method of producing cinema posters. Mondos & AMP's are cinema posters created as art pieces. Generally these have not been made for film marketing purposes but instead are artistic re-interpretations of both classic vintage films & modern movies. Mondo/AMP posters are exceptionally high quality prints, released in strictly limited numbers (invariably sold out on release) & become instant collectables.
