The Gorgon Poster

An unusual Hammer Studios poster (29 5/8"x 36") for the horror film "The Gorgon" (1964).

This is a puzzling poster as the dimensions are not standard sized for a UK cinema poster. Also we have no printers credits on the lower rim. Comparison with the UK Quad (https://propstore.com/product/gorgon-the-1964/uk-quad-1964/) shows the same design but a reduced range of colour, similar to that which appears on the UK Double-Crown poster (attached image courtesy of emovieposter.com). Clearly the poster we have is too large to be a portion of a DC or indeed a UK 1-Sheet (27"x 40"). The only other possibilities would seem to be a) that this poster is a portion of a larger UK Bus Shelter poster (40"x 60") or that it is a rare bespoke poster. Irrespective, a fascinating & very unusual piece of Hammer memorabilia (if anyone has any other ideas, please let us know).

Poster unfolded with pin-holes to corners, a tiny nick upper rim & a few light creases. Overall in very good condition (back office).
