UK Quad poster for the Pier Paolo Pasolini film "The Gospel According To St Matthew" (1964).

This story of Jesus was greeted with critical acclaim, the movie being nominated for three Oscars. The poster was released in the UK by Compton, the Tony Tenser/Michael Klinger distributors. Compton normally focused on exploitation material (especially foreign) but occasionally experimented with more high-minded material too. This is a really eye-catching poster being printed on brown Kraft paper. There was no paper shortage in the UK at this time so clearly this was an innovative marketing ploy to make the "Gospel..." advertising stand out. This is a genuinely scarce UK Quad & is likely to have been printed in small numbers only.

This example of the poster is in scarce unfolded condition. A few minor edge marks but overall in excellent condition.
