The Graduate Poster

UK Quad linen-backed first release cinema poster for the hugely successful film "The Graduate" (1967).

The poster design is based on a seminal scene from the film (student, Dustin Hoffman being lured in by mature temptress, Anne Bancroft). This scene is also captured on one of the eight UK front-of-house stills for the film & it is likely that the designer of this poster would have been supplied with photos such as these for reference.

"The Graduate" Quad appears in two formats: the first release "X" rated example (as here) & a slightly later "AA" rated poster for the release of a censored version of the film.

Poster originally folded but now linen-backed. Prior to backing there was a neat tear to the left mid-rim (now closed). However, the poster was otherwise in excellent condition & has required no touch-ins or airbrush re-painting of the black background (a notoriously difficult thing to get right on any black background). This is a quintessential 1960's movie poster.
