The Man Who Fell To Earth Poster

UK Quad cinema poster for the David Bowie scifi film "The Man Who Fell To Earth" (1976).

TMWFTE marked Bowie's big screen debut in a starring role (he'd had a small un-credited walk-on part in "The Virgin Soldiers" in 1969). Apart from his frequent music video performances, Bowie racked up nearly 20 further film roles over the next four decades. The distinctive poster design was by Vic Fair. Fair was in competition for this commission & was so determined to win that he worked all night on his composition. During the mid-70's Fair frequently incorporated geometric shapes into his designs & the TMWFTE Quad is a great example of this.

Poster folded with a tiny 1/4" conservation tape repair to foldline separation to rim bottom right but otherwise in excellent condition.
