The Millionairess Poster

Rare UK Quad linen-backed cinema poster for the British comedy "the Millionairess" (1960) the film starring Sophia Loren & Peter Sellers & the poster with superlative Chantrell artwork.

An attractive poster for the film which sparked Sellers' infatuation with Sophia Loren. Lots of trademark Chantrell features here: bold blocks of colour, near photographic quality facial images, black body lines & artwork extending over the outer white border too. Courtesy of https://www.chantrellposter.com/ we show an image of Chantrell next to a "Millionairess" poster in his office (the artist was posing with a gun in his hand to be used as reference for another poster commission). The film spawned an unlikely hit comedy record "Peter & Sophia", which peaked at #5 in the UK charts, Dec 1960.

Poster once folded but now linen-backed, however, unlike so many linen-backed posters, this was NOT a damaged poster that has been over-painted to present as near mint. This poster was in excellent condition prior to backing. There was a tiny amount of foldline wear & a couple of pin-holes which have been touched in but this poster remains in 99% original condition. This poster rarely appears in the market & when it does, it has often been censored with Sophia wearing an "added dress". To reiterate, this poster remains in original condition & has NOT been censored either.
