The Philadelphia Experiment

Original Vic Fair painted concept poster artwork (22"x 32") for the John Carpenter film "The Philadelphia Experiment" (1984).

The entire piece has been painted & hand-lettered with a single small photo image added as a paste-on. The text is all carried on the acetate overlay (originally there would have been two acetate sheets but for some reason one was removed). All items laid to card. This is one of several concept pieces created by Vic Fair. Brian Bysouth was responsible for the final Quad illustration based on another Fair design (see: http://www.moviepostermem.com/The-Philadelphia-Experiment-Poster/59056). Interestingly the artwork still bears the Downton agency sticker to the rim. John Carpenter was the executive Producer on the film.
