Vampyres

Scarce Vic Fair photo-mechanical concept "artwork" (14"x 22") for the controversial British vampire horror film "Vampyres" (1974).

Filmed at Oakley Court & with lashings of blood, sex & lesbian vampires, this 1974 film was released heavily cut & most commonly seen as part of a Quad double-bill with "The Devil's Rain" (we show the "Vampyres" element of this for reference). However, it is perhaps more likely that Fair produced artwork for the 1981 Rank video release of the film (video cover shown) & that this item was an early concept piece related to this. The print shows an artwork design to which Fair subsequently painted the teeth & lips blood red with a little trickle of drooling blood. A fascinating Vic Fair piece & a nice item of British horror history!
