White Mischief Poster

Original Vic Fair concept artwork for the period drama set in 1940's Kenya, "White Mischief" (1987).

This is an interesting piece as Fair's fellow artist John Stockle was ultimately responsible for the Quad poster artwork (image shown for reference). The annotations to the reverse suggest that this artwork may have been subsequently commissioned (possibly for video).

The artwork consists of a coloured illustration over which a blue filter page has been placed (this held in place by a white card border. Two small acetate overlays are in situ: one carrying the film title towards the bottom which has been signed & dated by the artist & the other with hand written script to the upper. On top of the blue paper are two photo-mechanical images (a similar image of the man with the gun appears on Stockle's Quad).
