She Stoops To Conquer (Stage) Poster

A fascinating two page "programme" for a touring production of "She Stoops To Conquer" (c' 1960-61) being of particular interest for being one of Anthony Hopkins first outings on stage.

Hopkins first professional engagement was with the Swansea Little Theatre in 1960. In this touring production of "She Stoops To Conquer", Hopkins appears low on the cast list as "Third Fellow". As was typical with such small touring troops, Hopkins was also a member of the stage crew, here listed as an "Assistant Stage Manager" too. The programme reveals that the play was to be toured in "Miners Halls" of S Wales & NE England plus "agricultural areas" of N Wales. A fascinating early piece of Anthony Hopkins memorabilia.
