Back To The Future Poster

Rare UK Quad unfolded stickered "Advance" cinema poster for the debut "Back To The Future" (1985) film.

The "Advance" Quad for the first BTTF film would have been the first poster advertising British audiences would have seen for what was to become a hugely successful film franchise (spawning sequels in 1989 & 1990, an animated TV series in 1991-92 & a theatrical musical in 2020). Like posters for the sequels this Quad was designed & illustrated by the acclaimed US poster artist Drew Struzan (giving a pleasing consistency to the "set").

Quad Advance posters were printed in smaller numbers than the corresponding Quad "General Release" posters making these posters scarce. However, this particular Advance is a rare stickered example. This was an official marketing embellishment that was used to further hype the movie immediately before the General Release - in this case the hype was justified as BTTF was the highest grossing film in the US in 1985 & similarly the biggest film of 1986 in the UK.

Poster in scarce unfolded condition, stickered (as mentioned) & with general surface creasing. Overall in good condition but with excellent display potential if subsequently linen-backed. A rare poster variant from the BTTF series of Quads.
