Grand Prix Poster

UK Quad "Style-A" linen-backed cinema poster for "Grand Prix" (1966).

A poster which exemplifies the phrase "eye-catching", the speed & thrill of Grand Prix motor racing encapsulated in the clever design. This is a film poster which naturally appeals to the motor racing fraternity but the iconic nature of the film & superb illustration generates wider interest too. Though sometimes attributed to Chantrell this is NOT by this artist & remains un-attributed (Chantrell never worked on posters for MGM). Poster originally folded but now linen-backed. The poster required minimal restoration (touch-ins to pin-holes to upper left corner & a couple of crossfolds only). There are a few light spot marks but these are unobtrusive & the poster has avoided the widespread "re-painting" that often accompanies linen-backed posters. A fantastic 60's poster design & a poster displays to excellent effect.
