Battle Of Britain Poster

UK Quad cinema poster for the WWII film "Battle of Britain" (1969).

A great example of a simple but brilliantly effective poster design, the vapour trails of the aircraft presenting flagged images of the warring protagonists. The cast represented a "Who's Who" of British acting talent including Michael Caine, Trevor Howard, Harry Andrews, Ian McShane, Kenneth More, Laurence Olivier, Christopher Plummer, Michael Redgrave, Susannah York etc & was produced by Harry Saltzman (of James Bond fame). Director Guy Hamilton had already directed one Bond film, "Goldfinger" (1964) but following "the "Battle of Britain" he proceeded to helm three further Bond films.

Poster folded & in 100% original condition. Being predominantly white, this poster often appears with unsightly marks/staining etc. Many such posters are then backed & restored with the white background often completely over-painted (this happens to "The Godgather" too). However, this example has had NO restoration & as can be seen it displays to excellent effect. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find posters like this that remain in original condition like this.
