Bird Man of Alcatraz Poster

US 1-Sheet conservation paper-backed poster for the Burt Lancaster film "The Birdman Of Alcatraz" (1962).

There is some confusion in the market as to the artist responsible for this stylish poster. The immediate thought at first glance is that this is by Saul Bass, the depiction of the birds certainlyy being Bass-esque. Bob Peak also contributed artwork that was used for the US Window card (attached image courtesy of emovieposter) & the face on the right seems based on this. However, definitive proof as to the artist for the ensemble is still lacking. Irrespective the poster provides a superb example of early 1960's graphic design & a fine memento of this four times Oscar nonimated film.

Poster once folded & now linen-backed with minimal restoration required (several tiny snag tears to upper white background only) (map chest 7).
