Corruption Poster

UK Quad silkscreen cinema poster for the little-known British horror film "Corruption" (1968) starring Peter Cushing & Sue Lloyd with a host of other familiar faces (Kate O'Mara, David Lodge, Billy Murray, Valerie Van Ost, Marianne Morris etc).

Made & set in the "Swinging 60's", the film represents a time capsule of contemporary fashions, hair-styles & "free love". This, however, collides with (for the time) graphic violence & partly explains why the film was poorly received on release (which in turn explains the scarcity of this particular Quad title). A production dispute resulted in two versions of the film being released (as usual British audiences were provided with the version lacking the gratuitous nudity & violence). The film has subsequently undergone something of a reappraisal & now has cult status (the trailer gives a good idea of the format: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061520/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1)

As an interesting sign of the times, the poster warns that unaccompanied women will not be admitted, a device which is intended to hype the horrifying credentials of the film (& something today that would probably be illegal).

Poster folded with single pin-holes to corners, light wear & overall in very good condition. A scarce British horror title & an interesting film too.
