Diamonds Are Forever Poster

UK Quad cinema poster for the Sean Connery James Bond film "Diamonds Are Forever" (1971) with poster illustration by Robert McGinnis, this being from the earliest "AA" print run.

A very popular Bond poster. McGinnis crams in lots of colour & action, explosions & beautiful girls too, Bond at the centre looking cool & classy (his orginal concept artwork had to be adjusted as the girl's hand holding the diamonds was deemed to be suggestively low). The earliest print run for DAF carried a "AA" rating far right but early in the release of the film this was negotiated down to "A" & so posters already printed "AA" were over-sickered to create a single "A" certification, as in this example. Later print run posters carry just the single "A" certificate. DAF Quads generally also carry a printer's sticker to the lower left obscuring text about the soundtrack release, this presumably due to a delay in productuiion (industial unrest) or some other legal issue (it was far cheaper to have posters stickered like this rather than being completely re-printed).

Poster folded with several neat pin-holes to corners rim, a few repairs to minor edge nicks & an old 2 3/4" repair to foldline separation to mid-horizontal fold at right rim. These are relatively minor issues & note, this is a poster from the earliest print run.
