Just A Gigolo

Original Brian Bysouth painted artwork (20"x 27 3/4") for the UK 1-Sheet poster for the David Bowie-Marlene Dietrich film, "Just A Gigolo" (1978).

An unusual case as Tom Chantrell supplied artwork for the Quad poster but Brian Bysouth was responsible for the artwork for the UK 1-Sheet poster. Bysouth delivers a beautiful depiction, with delicate detail & gorgeous colour combinations, the representations of both David Bowie & Marlene Dietrich being first class. This captivating Bysouth artwork was used not only for the UK 1-Sheet poster but also for the Spanish, Danish, German, Belgian, Argentinian film posters, plus the vinyl soundtrack release too. The artwork is gouache laid to artboard with a marked up tracing paper overlay with hand-annoated instructions to the printer. This piece offers the heady mix of David Bowie, Marlene Dietrrich, pre-war Berlin & Brian Bysouth artwork too!
